4 Step Daily Formula for Online Business Success

SUPER SIMPLE 4 STEP DAILY BLUEPRINT

As part of a 10 day blog challenge, I was given an exercise to come up with a daily success plan that would only take about 20 minutes to execute.  The one thing that was easy for me that might be hard for you is, when in your day will you complete the 4 steps?  For me it’s easy, I work my online business part-time so an hour before I need to start getting ready for work or late evening after the kids are all in bed are the ideal times for me.

So here is my Super Simple 4 Step formula for building a business online:

  1. Create Content
  2. Share Your Content
  3. Write an email to your list
  4. Engage and Contribute to your community or communities

CREATE DAILY CONTENT

Most online marketers are focused on driving traffic – gotta get traffic, if I just had MORE traffic!  The reality is, if people want to get to know you and all you have are squeeze pages, how do you propose they will ever get to know you?  Give your audience something of value, teach them, share your story and your struggle or share how you overcame an obstacle and got results.  If you’re going to pump out meaningful daily content and do it in about 20 minutes a day, you might consider mapping out 10 to 20 topics that are relevant to your audience and then pick one daily for the subject of your content.

SHARE YOUR CONTENT

I wrote a similar blog post on how you can drive traffic to your content just by social shares.  To keep you from spending too much time playing in social media, consider automating your social shares using a paid service like Onlywire.  There are also many free services like buffer or IFTTT.  Another super easy way to share your content is to create a video about your topic and provide a link that your visitors can follow to get to your content – either on Youtube or Facebook live.

WRITE AN EMAIL TO YOUR LIST

If you’re building an online business, it goes without saying that you need to be building a list of subscribers.  One of the best ways to do that is by providing regular content that solves a problem for your target audience.  As you build your list of subscribers, you have to keep them interested in what you’re doing.  Providing daily content that solves a problem will give you something to write about in your emails.  Your email list can be another form of traffic to your website, but your subscribers won’t know what you have if you don’t send them regular messages.  Building trust and providing value to your subscribers can pay off in commissions when you recommend products using affiliate links.

ENGAGE AND CONTRIBUTE

I recently read a book by Gary Vaynerchuk called Crush it! and he suggests you get traction for your business by engaging with influencers in your niche.  Writing content and then attributing some of your content to what you have learned from someone by linking to their content is a way to get noticed in your niche.  Another example is being a member of a Facebook group with someone who is famous in your niche and establishing your self in the group by offering helpful insights to other members.  The Gurus don’t always have time to monitor the thousands of posts made on their Facebook pages so when you provide a little value by helping someone out, you can get noticed in a high profile way!
